Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff is looking for a "Strange Desire." Or at least that's what he said in the Craigslist ad he used to announce the debut album from his side project Bleachers.
In the post titled "Artist seeking 'Strange Desire,'" Antonoff tells fans the album will be out July 15th. He also explains that the title Strange Desires comes from a lyric he wrote for the record's final song -- "Feeling like I never was young I followed a dream and a strange desire."
Antonoff says mourning a childhood he feels he never had is an important theme on the new album. He says the past decade has been both "bizarre and wonderful," and he wrote these songs as a way to think about his life as it has unfolded so far.
Antonoff plans to bring Bleachers to a number of festivals this summer, including next month's Governors Ball in New York, the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware, and Glastonbury across the pond in England.
